Automated crypto hedging — without running a trading terminal
Protection doesn't have to mean manually operating a derivatives account. Here's the automated workflow, in plain language.
Connect your portfolio
You connect or add your portfolio wallet (read-only) so SaveMyCrypto can see your assets and economic exposure. Your assets stay in your wallet.
See what can be protected
SaveMyCrypto shows your portfolio and which assets currently have protection available, and which are still being evaluated.
Choose what to protect
Pick the assets and the protection level (25%, 50%, 75%, 100%, or a custom whole percentage 1–100%).
Add protection capital
Protection requires capital: you fund a dedicated protection capital amount used as the operating buffer. Initial targets are expressed against the required hedge collateral (110% standard, 120% enhanced; ongoing minimum 110%). This is protection capital, not a SaveMyCrypto fee.
Deposit and confirm
You send the protection capital to your dedicated deposit address. SaveMyCrypto verifies it on-chain — the deposit is not treated as funded until it is confirmed.
Protection activates
Once the required capital is confirmed, SaveMyCrypto activates the automated protection for your selected assets.
Continuous monitoring
SaveMyCrypto monitors the protection — the trigger, the protective stop, and any upward adjustment — and keeps you informed. You don't have to watch a terminal.
Capital health
Protection uses an operating buffer. If the buffer declines, you may be asked to add capital to restore it. This is a normal part of keeping protection healthy, not a penalty or an automatic liquidation trigger.
What automation does NOT change
Automation removes the manual execution work. It does not change the fundamentals: hedging still has costs (stop-loss cost, funding), requires collateral, and is never risk-free or guaranteed.
